The Wealden Times Midsummer Fair June 4-6

Always a Flutterby favourite, this year’s Midsummer fair was a scorcher! The lovely sunshine attracted a huge crowd to Hole Park, Rolvenden for three days of fun and shopping. We only had one torrential downpour on Friday; we were delighted to be inside a nice marquee as opposed to clinging onto an umbrella outside!

We had decided to give the Flutterby display a new look so rested our traditional oatmeal tablecloths in favour of some stunning new duck egg ones on which to show off our new collection.

All worked brilliantly although we had one hilarious moment when the hot sun melted the tape that held up our backdrop cloth sending it tumbling to the floor! Having spent hours setting up the table the night before (thank you to the wonderful Harriet!) it was a slight challenge to replace it whilst still serving all our customers! A little bit of sewing later that evening sorted the problem and by Friday morning it looked as good as new, thanks to John on the Golden Fleece stand for some invaluable help!

It was lovely to see so many Flutterby customers who come and see us at each fair. We hope you liked our new collection and that you will tell us what you think of this new website. Looking forward to the Midwinter Fair at Bedgebury 19-21 November when it won’t be the sunshine we’ll have to worry about interfering with our display!
